In a large stock pot heat 2 tbsp of butter or olive oil and sauté the chopped vegetables raw orzo and salt for 4 minutes stirring continuously. Stir until well combined. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Don t forget to salt the water. Drain water then add cheddar cheese parmesan cheese butter and milk.

Add in broccoli and cook for 2 3 more minutes or until orzo is tender. Add chicken onion salt and pepper. Cook until the broccoli and orzo are almost cooked 8 to 10 minutes. Drain well broccoli florets are notorious for holding onto water then return to the pot. Meanwhile heat broccoli with cheese sauce according to package directions.

If you want to do something unconventional and be like me drop the broccoli florets into the boiling pasta water for about 3 minutes while the pasta is cooking.
Add broth to the pan and bring to a boil. Add salt to taste and serve. Stir orzo and broccoli with cheese sauce into skillet. Add broth to the pan and bring to a boil. Stir well and add more milk if needed.
